P.P. Ryan & Co Solicitors are based in Rathdowney, Co. Laois. We were established in 1942 by the late Peter Paul Ryan. His son Michael, our current principal, joined the practice in 1978. Paul and Michael worked alongside one another until 2009 when Paul retired aged 90. Michael’s son, James, joined the firm in 2020 having trained and qualified in one of Big Six law firms in Dublin.
We have, together with our capable legal executives, been assisting our clients over the past 80 plus years with practical guidance and tailored advice. We serve individual and corporate clients alike in a professional yet relaxed environment. Probate is the process by which the will of a deceased person is proved before the Probate Office. This process involves extensive engagement with the estate and assets of the deceased person and linking this to the executors’ duties to Revenue, the Probate Office and Estate Law. We have vast experience across all areas of Probate. We advise executors on how best to give effect to the will of the deceased person and to others in situations where there is no will.
